On September 11th, the Social Internship Program (SIP) and NSS units of Duxford College for Advanced Studies, alongside Blood Donors Kerala, Eranad, successfully hosted a Blood Donation Camp. Enjoy, Energize, Excel : Happy Teachers Day

On September 5th, 2024, in celebration of Teacher’s Day, Duxford International Business School (DIBS) and Duxford College for Advanced Studies, in collaboration with NIMS Hospital, Wandoor, organized a Free Health Checkup Camp with the theme “Enjoy, Energize, and Excel.” This initiative aimed to support the health and well-being of teachers, students, and the broader community, acknowledging the critical role educators play in shaping future leaders.

The camp provided a range of essential health services, including medical screenings and consultations, promoting the importance of both physical and mental health. By offering this event, DIBS emphasized the need for well-being as a foundation for personal and professional success.

This thoughtful initiative served as a tribute to educators, honoring their dedication while encouraging everyone to embrace a healthier lifestyle for sustained excellence in all aspects of life.

Aloha : Freshers Party 2024

On September 4, 2024, Duxford College for Advanced Studies hosted its Freshers and Annual Celebration event, titled “ALOHA.” Esteemed guests from various fields attended to commemorate the occasion. The event featured Dr. Sahid Cholayil, founder and chairman of Mission 3G. Other notable attendees included Mr. Shijimol, president of Kalikavu Grama Panchayat; Fareed Rahmani, MD & CEO of Duxford Edupark; and Prof. Alavi Bin Mohammed, principal of Duxford College. Mr. V. Shashidharan, sub-inspector of police, and members of the Kalikavu Grama Panchayat, including Mr. A.K. Muhammed Ali, Ms. Shanila Ponnu, and Mr. V.P.A. Nasar, also joined the celebration. The “ALOHA” event featured engaging activities that fostered community and camaraderie among students and faculty. This vibrant gathering set a positive tone for the academic year ahead.

 

DUX-IN Trip 2024

On August 31, 2024, Duxford College for Advanced Studies hosted the DUX-IN 2.0 trip to Akalappuzha, aimed at fostering harmony and building strong relationships between faculty and newly joined students. This memorable event provided an opportunity for participants to engage in team-building activities, enjoy nature walks, and interact in an informal setting, promoting bonding and mutual understanding within the college community. The serene surroundings of Akalappuzha created a perfect backdrop for meaningful connections, leading to enhanced communication and a stronger sense of unity among attendees. Feedback from participants indicated a positive experience, highlighting the importance of such events in cultivating a supportive college environment.

Awareness Session on Blood Donation

On August 30th, the Social Internship Program (SIP) and NSS units of Duxford College for Advanced Studies teamed up with Blood Donors Kerala, Eranad, to host an impactful Awareness Session on Blood Donation. The event aimed to educate and motivate attendees on the importance of blood donation and its vital role in saving lives.

Mr. Arun Manjeri, the coordinator of Blood Donors Kerala (BDK), served as the chief guest. His extensive experience in organizing blood donation drives and his deep insights into the subject made the session highly informative. His talk emphasized the need for regular blood donors, community involvement, and the transformative power of a single donation, inspiring participants to contribute to this noble cause.

Legal Literacy: Empowering Voices, Enabling Change

On August 29th, Duxford College for Advanced Studies hosted an informative session titled “Legal Literacy: Empowering Voices, Enabling Change.” The event aimed to educate participants about their legal rights and encourage them to actively advocate for social justice.

Adv. Jayadhanya, a TLSC Panel Lawyer, led the session. She shared practical insights into common legal issues and explained the importance of knowing civil rights. Her discussion emphasized how legal literacy empowers individuals to protect their rights and engage with the legal system effectively.

This event reinforced Duxford College’s mission to promote legal awareness and social responsibility, equipping attendees with the tools to become proactive in their communities.

Pioneering Success: Insights from Duxford’s Young Entrepreneurs

On August 21, 2024, Duxford College hosted the event “Pioneering Success: Insights from Duxford’s Young Entrepreneurs.” The inauguration was led by Mr. Santhosh Kumar N, Industries Extension Officer of Kalikavu, who emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in driving innovation and economic growth.

The event featured inspiring talks from two prominent young entrepreneurs: Muhammed Ridan P, Founder and CEO of RN Designs, and Haneen Emdan, Founder and CEO of the Emdan Group of Companies. Both speakers shared their journeys, discussing the challenges and triumphs they faced while establishing their businesses. Their insights offered valuable lessons in creativity, resilience, and the entrepreneurial mindset, motivating attendees to pursue their own ventures.

The seminar aimed to inspire students and aspiring entrepreneurs at Duxford College, highlighting the potential for success in the business world and fostering a culture of innovation and enterprise within the college community.

Duxford College Hosts Kidney Disease Diagnosis Campaign in Kalikavu

On August 20th, Duxford College for Advanced Studies, in collaboration with Kalikavu Hima Care Home & Dialysis Centre, held a one-day Kidney Disease Diagnosis Campaign. This community-driven initiative aimed to raise awareness about kidney health while offering free diagnostic services to the local residents at the Hima Care Home and Dialysis Center in Kalikavu.

Volunteers from the college’s Social Internship Program (SIP) played a key role in the campaign’s success by assisting in various activities throughout the day. Their commitment to service underscored the college’s dedication to promoting health awareness and supporting the well-being of the community.

Expert Interaction : Dr Parakala Prabhavakar

On August 12th, Duxford College for Advanced Studies, in collaboration with Duxford International Business School, hosted an expert interaction session titled “India’s Journey towards a Developed Economy: Milestones and Challenges.” The session featured renowned political economist Dr. Parakala Prabhakar, who also serves as Managing Director of RightFOLIO, as the chief guest.

Dr. Prabhakar provided a comprehensive analysis of India’s economic progression, reflecting on pivotal moments that have contributed to its growth. He delved into the significant reforms, policies, and industrial developments that have driven the country closer to its goal of becoming a developed economy. Additionally, he highlighted the complex challenges ahead, such as addressing inequality, enhancing infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable development.
