Seminar on Data Analytics

On August 9, 2024, the Department of Commerce at Duxford College for Advanced Studies organized a seminar on Applied Data Analytics for Finance and Accounting and AI Integrated Solutions for UI/UX Designers. Conducted by Codeme Mei, the seminar provided valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies shaping the fields of finance, accounting, and design.

Participants had the opportunity to learn how data analytics can enhance financial decision-making and improve accounting practices, as well as how AI can be leveraged to create more user-friendly and effective design solutions. The event aimed to equip students and professionals with practical knowledge and skills, preparing them for the evolving demands of their respective industries. Collaborating with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), this seminar underscored the commitment of Duxford College to provide cutting-edge education and resources to its community.

Njangal Koodeyund Campaign

On July 30, 2024, the “Njngal Koodeyund” campaign was organized to collect essential items for the people of Wayanad. This initiative was a collaborative effort involving Duxford College, the Students Initiative in Palliative Care (SIP), and the National Service Scheme (NSS). The campaign aimed to support those in need by gathering necessary supplies, such as food, clothing, and hygiene products.

Through this campaign, students and faculty came together to demonstrate their commitment to community service and social responsibility, fostering a spirit of unity and compassion. The collected items were set to be distributed to the affected individuals in Wayanad, showcasing Duxford College’s dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Exordium 2.0

On July 29, 2024, Duxford Edupark celebrated its first anniversary with a grand event titled Exordium 2.0. The occasion was graced by esteemed guests, including P.K. Basheer, MLA of Ernad Constituency, and Shoukathali SP, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Alappuzha. The celebration also featured prominent dignitaries such as V.P. Muhammed Ali, Chairman of Duxford Edupark; Fareed Rahmani, CEO & MD of Duxford Edupark; Ashraf Erambath, Finance Director; along with Vice Chairman Abdul Muhaimin and Abdul Majeed P.K.

The event marked a significant milestone in Duxford Edupark’s journey, reflecting on achievements over the past year while outlining the vision for the future. It was a gathering of innovation, inspiration, and collaboration, highlighting the commitment of Duxford Edupark to fostering a vibrant educational community.

DUX-IN 2.0

On July 18, 2024, Duxford College held DUX-IN 2.0, an orientation program for the 2024 batch. The event was organized in collaboration with Skill Garden. Prof. Alavi bin Mohammed bin Ahammed AP, the Principal of Duxford College, chaired the program.

Key attendees included Mr. Fareed Rahmani, MD & CEO of Duxford Edupark; Mr. Misab PT, COO of Duxford Edupark; Mr. Nuhman, Vice Principal of Duxford College; and Mr. Riswan Ali, Director of Duxford Skill Garden. They provided an introduction to the CMA program offered under the Duxford Skill Garden.

Jinsha Ashraf, Executive Director, and Mohammed Ali P, Director of Duxford Edupark, delivered felicitations, highlighting the resources available to students. Amritha Kumaran, HOD of Commerce, concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers. This orientation aimed to prepare new students for their academic journey at Duxford College.

Ignition’24

On June 24, 2024, Duxford College hosted Ignition’24, an event designed to provide the First Year Undergraduate Guidance Program (FYUGP) alongside a Career Orientation for new students. The event aimed to welcome the incoming cohort and equip them with essential insights into their academic journey and future career paths.

During Ignition’24, faculty members and career counselors shared valuable information regarding the various courses offered, academic expectations, and the support services available to students. The Career Orientation segment highlighted the significance of planning for the future, emphasizing skills development, internships, and networking opportunities that could enhance their employability.

Participants were encouraged to actively engage with the faculty and ask questions, creating a welcoming atmosphere for new students as they embarked on their academic endeavors at Duxford College. This initiative aimed to empower students with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed in their studies and future careers.

Meet with Dana Razik

On May 28, 2024, Duxford College (DC), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an exclusive meet-and-greet event with renowned singer Dana Razik. The event provided students and faculty with a unique opportunity to interact with the talented artist, gaining insights into her musical journey, career, and experiences in the industry.

Dana Razik shared her creative process, challenges, and achievements, inspiring the attendees to pursue their passions with dedication. The event fostered a lively and engaging atmosphere, encouraging discussions about music, creativity, and personal growth.

This special meet, part of DC’s continuous efforts to offer enriching experiences to its students, highlighted the importance of cultural and artistic engagement alongside academic learning.

Laptop Distribution

On May 24, 2024, Mr. Ashraf Erambath, the Finance Director of Duxford Edupark, inaugurated a special initiative aimed at empowering students through technology. The event marked the launch of a laptop distribution scheme for degree students, offering laptops at a 50% discount. This initiative was made possible through a collaboration between Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) and the National NGO Confederation.

The scheme, designed to enhance digital access and learning for students, was warmly received by the attendees. The event highlighted the importance of digital inclusion in education, ensuring that more students can benefit from technology to support their academic growth. Mr. Ashraf Erambath emphasized the significance of such initiatives in bridging the digital divide and enabling students to thrive in the modern educational landscape.

This initiative further strengthened Duxford College’s commitment to supporting its students with the necessary tools for success, while fostering collaborations with national organizations to promote educational advancement.

Faculty Development Program

The Faculty Development Program (FDP), organized by the Faculty Development Cell and IQAC in collaboration with Duxford International Business School (DIBS), took place in May 2024 on the dates 13th, 14th, 16th, and 25th. Aimed at enhancing the professional competencies of the teaching staff, this program brought together key resource persons to cover diverse and highly relevant topics.

Mr. Raghvveer from Linways, a resource person, led a technical session on OBE Module Setting and Implementation, providing insights into efficient module development within the education framework. Following this, Dr. Muhammed Rafi & Aflah shared their expertise on utilizing Google Workspace for Communication and Teaching, offering practical tools to streamline digital learning environments.

Additionally, Mr. Muhammed Nuhman A.P. conducted an informative workshop on Situation Analysis: A Gateway to Action Research, emphasizing the importance of practical research approaches in academic settings. The final session, led by Team Educantia, focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education, highlighting how AI can transform teaching methodologies.

This well-rounded FDP aimed to equip educators with contemporary teaching methods, research tools, and innovative technologies to enhance their academic delivery and professional growth.
