The Students Welfare Club at Duxford College organized a crucial program titled “Speak Up, Reach Out” on September 12, 2023, as part of the initiative #MentalHealthMatters. The event aimed to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health issues, emphasizing the theme “Be Brave & Never Quit,” in recognition of September as Suicide Awareness Month.
Held at Visionarium, Duxford Edupark, the session featured insights from Dr. Shifna Umer, who engaged students in discussions about mental health, coping strategies, and the importance of seeking help. The program encouraged participants to share their experiences, foster open conversations, and promote a culture of support within the college community. On August 23, 2023, Elevate ED – an event focused on empowering entrepreneurs – took place, featuring Junaid T, the Founder and Managing Director of English Cafe. Organized by the Department of Commerce in association with the ED Club, the event aimed to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs by sharing valuable insights and experiences from a successful business leader. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the challenges and strategies involved in starting and managing a business, fostering a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among participants. The event proved to be an engaging platform for students to connect and enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
DUX-IN 2023 was a comprehensive 7-day induction program designed to welcome new undergraduate students and help them acclimate to life at Duxford College. The program concluded with an exciting trip on August 17, 2023, symbolizing the beginning of the students’ journey at the college.
Throughout the week, students participated in various activities, workshops, and interactive sessions that provided insights into academic expectations, campus resources, and opportunities for personal development. The final trip served as a memorable experience, fostering camaraderie among the students and allowing them to bond outside of the classroom setting. D-Transform: Faculty Orientation Program is a seven-day event held from 21st July 2023 to 26th July 2023 at Visionarium, Duxford Edupark, designed to introduce faculty members to innovative teaching strategies and the latest digital tools. The program offers workshops, expert sessions, and practical insights to help educators integrate technology into their teaching practices. The event features VP Muhammed Ali, **Fareed Rahman, and Ashraf Erambath, with Dr. T Muhammedali chairing the event and Prof. S Ganesan leading the inauguration. D-Transform aims to prepare educators for the evolving academic environment, equipping them with essential skills for enhancing student engagement, curriculum development, and digital assessments.
