Rules & Regulations

At Duxford College, all students are expected to strictly follow the college’s disciplinary rules. Claiming ignorance of these rules will not be accepted as an excuse, as it is every student’s responsibility to be aware of them. Conduct yourself with respect, decency, and decorum at all times. Violations of these rules will lead to disciplinary actions, which may include fines, suspension, or even dismissal.

 

General Rules

Attendance and Punctuality

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
  • Attendance is recorded at the beginning of each hour by the teacher.
  • Missing one teaching hour is equivalent to missing half a day’s attendance.
  • Applications for condoning attendance shortages are only considered with valid medical reasons and a Medical Certificate.
  • Students are permitted to register for examinations only if they meet the minimum attendance requirement.
  • Wearing the prescribed college uniform is compulsory.

Respect and Discipline

  • Show respect to teachers, staff, and peers at all times.
  • Follow instructions issued by the Principal, teachers, and authorities. Disobedience will be treated as serious misconduct.
  • Misconduct inside or outside the classroom, or anywhere on campus, will result in disciplinary action.
  • Teachers may send students out of the class for misbehavior. In such cases, the teacher and student must report the incident to the Principal.
  • The Principal has the authority to impose punishments, which may include fines, cancellation of attendance, withholding of term certificates, suspension, or expulsion.
  • Posting defamatory comments about the college, staff, or authorities on social media will result in strict disciplinary measures.

Anti-Bullying and Harassment

  • The college enforces a zero-tolerance policy for bullying or harassment in any form.

Academic Rules

  • Homework and Assignments: Timely submission of homework and assignments is required.
  • Examinations: Strict adherence to the exam schedule and rules is expected.
  • Cheating and Plagiarism: Both are strictly prohibited and will result in severe consequences.
  • Progress Reports: Students’ academic progress will be reviewed regularly.

Co-Curricular Rules

  • Extracurricular Activities: Participation is encouraged, but students must obtain prior permission.
  • Sports and Games: Follow the rules and regulations set for sports and games activities.

Specific Rules

  • Library Rules: Maintain silence, handle books with care, and avoid bringing food or drinks into the library.
  • Canteen Rules: Behave respectfully and avoid littering in the canteen area.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with these rules will result in disciplinary actions, which may include:

  • Verbal warnings
  • Detention
  • Suspension
  • Expulsion (in extreme cases)
